Sponsoring Change/Investing in People

The FAWR sponsorship program matches willing donors who are interested in funding the work of an individual scholar directly. This personal program allows sponsors to interact with the scholar on a regular basis in order to offer support and encouragement. The benefit to the scholar is that she is supported by a known individual with whom she can form a relationship. While the sponsor is required to provide yearly funding, the benefit of giving through this program is that the support is entirely tax-deductible. Apart from an administrative fee, the entire donation goes to the scholar.

If you are interested in sponsoring a scholar, please download an application and send in your supporting materials to us. We will contact you with potential scholars and make introductions.

Scholars who apply for one of our five named scholarships and who are not funded will automatically be eligible for this program. Sponsorships are awarded on a rolling basis.

(You will need Acrobat Reader to view this form)

Scholars who wish to be supported by a sponsor should complete an application for scholarship and indicate that they are applying for a sponsorship. Please note that the same supporting documents are needed for sponsorships.

Sponsorships at a Glance

Sponsorships are based on an adopt-a-scholar program that seeks to match those who are willing to help needy emerging scholars with much needed funds. Post-graduate stipends are often insufficient to meet even basic needs of scholars and this is an important way to encourage young women to pursue their vocations.
